So our plan was to avoid walking around in the afternoons, but on Day 1 we ended up taking a nap til noon and then were feeling optimistic about braving the heat since we were excited to look around. Bad idea! HOT! There are food stands everywhere of course, so we found a shaved ice place that a bunch of schoolboys were lined up at. Score. =) Delicious with TONS of condensed milk and frozen strawberries and lychees. This place was right outside of Wat Chedi Luang, the big temple complex in the middle of old city.
Note to self: Must invest in a shaved ice machine for our next place. We used to have one as kids and I remember my mom would make red bean sauce to pour over the ice. Great summer treat!
